The Swiss Federal Geoportal (www.geo.admin.ch) is connected to several thematic geoportals, including the Swiss Inventory of Cultural Property, which is under the authority of Federal Office for Civil Protection. Current situation: a) all levels of implementation, from local to national, b) GIS technology included within the national information infrastructure, c) GIS applications publicly available, d) main fields of application: heritage management, archaeology, heritage protection, landscape history, toponyms.
