The State Administration of Cultural Heritage created and operates a comprehensive database dedicated to cultural heritage in China. There are many GIS applications in cultural heritage all over the country starting with early 2000s. Current situation: a) all levels of implementation, from local to national, b) GIS technology included within the national information infrastructure, c) GIS applications publicly available, d) main fields of application: heritage management, archaeology, heritage planning, GIS and BIM integration.
