The National Council for Cultural Heritage, the public body coordinating the activities concerning the cultural heritage in Cuba, copes with the inherent difficulties related to the creation of a modern and functional heritage inventory that should include a geo-spatial component. Current situation: a) implementation level: local, b) GIS technology included within the national information infrastructure, c) GIS applications internally available, d) main fields of application: heritage management, archaeology, urban planning.
