The Department of Antiquities provides in its website comprehensive georeferenced information regarding cultural heritage of Cyprus and, at the same time, it supports a project dedicated to the World Heritage Byzantine Churches in Cyprus whose website also includes relevant georeferenced data (www.byzantinecyprus.com/byzantine-churches.html). Current situation: a) all levels of implementation, from local to national, b) GIS technology included within the national information infrastructure, c) GIS applications publicly available, d) main fields of application: heritage management, archaeology, historic monuments conservation, e) special mention for several Monument Information Systems mainly devoted for World Heritage Sites.
