The National Geoportal (www.geoportal.de) provides direct access to several heritage datasets. Also, the European Union’s INSPIRE geoportal provides easy access to many German heritage datasets included within Theme I-9 “Protected sites”. Current situation: a) all levels of implementation, from local to national, b) GIS technology included within the national information infrastructure, c) GIS applications publicly available, d) main fields of application: heritage management, archaeology, historic monuments protection. |
