The Cultural Heritage Institute of Spain developed a geoportal (ipce.gvsigonline.com), which is currently oriented towards the prevention of the heritage decay by publishing a series of thematic layers describing the indices of deterioration risks influenced by meteorological factors such as humidity and temperature. There are many GIS applications and projects in cultural heritage implemented all over the country. Current situation: a) all levels of implementation, from local to national, b) GIS technology included within the national information infrastructure, c) GIS applications publicly available, d) main fields of application: heritage management, archaeology, risk assessment. |
