The Directorate for Cultural Heritage of Norway developed a heritage management database called “Askeladden” accompanied by “Kulturminnesøk” (Kulturminnesok.no), which is the system for its public dissemination that is connected to the national geoportal (www.geonorge.no). Current situation: a) all levels of implementation, from local to national, b) GIS technology included within the national information infrastructure, c) GIS applications publicly available, d) main fields of application: heritage management, archaeology, spatial databases, spatial data infrastructures.
