Geoportalul Federal Elveţian (Swiss Federal Geoportal) (www.geo.admin.ch) este conectat cu mai multe geoportaluri tematice, inclusiv cu Inventarul Elveţian al Proprietăţii Culturale (Swiss Inventory of Cultural Property) care se află sub autoritatea  Oficiului Federal pentru Protecţie Civilă (Federal Office for Civil Protection). Situaţia actuală: a) toate nivelurile de implementare, de la local la national, b) tehnologia GIS este inclusă în cadrul infrastructurii informatice naţionale, c) există aplicaţii GIS publice, d) domenii de aplicare principale: administrarea patrimoniului, arheologie, protecţia patrimoniului, istoria peisajului, toponime.
