UTILIZAREA TEHNOLOGIEI GIS PENTRU PATRIMONIUL CULTURAL

Conform misiunii sale, Direcţia Generală a Antichităţilor şi Muzeelor din Siria (Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums in Syria) s-a implicat în activitatea de documentare a siturilor arheologice şi monumentelor aflate în zonele de conflict din întreaga ţară şi a publicat pe site-ul său (www.dgam.gov.sy) Harta Interactivă a Siturilor Arheologice dinZone Conflictuale (Interactive Map of Conflicted Archaeological Sites). Multe organizaţii din întreaga lume oferă sprijin Siriei referitor la patrimoniul care se află în pericol. Situaţia actuală: a) toate nivelurile de implementare, de la local la national, b) infrastructura informatică naţională este în curs de realizare, c) există aplicaţii GIS publice, d) domenii de aplicare principale: administrarea patrimoniului, arheologie, inventarul patrimoniului cultural, zone de conflict armat.
